How is structural steel detailing service different?

The process of structural steel detailing is very different as it’s an extremely technical job of construction which doesn’t require any degree. The college programs which provide a degree for structural steel detail process are not so common. However, there are certain certificate programs as well as steel construction firms which pay for having less experienced and younger people to attend them. This is because this profession depends mainly on computers and the advanced technology. Earlier most of designing and drafting used to be done manually. But, today CAD or computer aided drafting software are used by most steel construction firms.

Still, in spite of these technological advancements, the process of structural steel detailing is all about job experience rather than classroom teaching. Probably that’s why college degree isn’t required for the steel detailing professionals. It’s the responsibility of steel construction firm which hires new steel detailers to train him properly in the new profession.

The training generally requires some apprenticeship with new trainee and detailer working under experienced detailers for minimum 5 years so that he can learn everything.
